Boost Good Cholesterol

"HDL" ia often called "good cholesterol", but really it's great: For every point you add to your score, you get a 2 to 3 percent drop in your risk of heart disease. Research shows you can crank levels up by eating these foods. (Dark chocolate, salmon, berries, and eggs).

-Dark Chocolate-
If you eat 3.5 ounces of dark chocolate (the gourment kind that's 70% cacao) everyday for a week, you raise your "HDL" by 9%. That's a load of chocolate (about 550 calories' worth!) If you eat smaller daily doses say 1/2 ounce, over an extended period of time it should help.

-Salmon-
"HDL" rose 4% in adults who ate two 4-ounce servings of salmon a week for four weeks. Other fatty fish: mackerel, herring, sardines, should deliver similiar benifits researchers say.

-Berries-
They need to be fresh, just plentiful. "HDL" levels rose 5% when adults ate about a cup of frozen berries a day for eieght weeks.

-Eggs-
Healthy adults who ate a whole egg for 12 weeks increased "HDL" a smuhc as 48%. Eggs are rich in lecithin, which animal studies have shown, raised "HDL"
